The ABA Services Work Group met with behavior analysts to discuss their experiences using the Category III codes.
Additionally, the committee assembled research to provide strong evidence regarding the efficacy of ABA interventions focusing on:
- Early intensive behavioral intervention for children with autism
- Treatment for severe problem behavior in children and adults with disabilities
- Treatment of tics and Tourette disorder with habit reversal
- Increasing social skills
The committee sent a survey to over 8,000 practitioners to seek input on proposed changes to the current code set. This feedback was helpful in guiding the committee in drafting a proposal for new and revised codes to better meet the needs of ABA service providers and clients.
